Language teachers who have been language learners know that good language learning is the product of consistency, contact with the language and a desire to express ourselves. Yet, some of the homework tasks students tend to be given can be so discouraging and robotic that language learning is presented as a monotonous process where one’s ideas or convictions seem not to matter.
